Telstra Health Chooses Venom BlackBooks

Telstra Health

Healthcare Technology. BlackBook Zero 14 in the ICT Fleet.

Telstra Health builds the technology that connects healthcare providers with patients and with each other.

Its mobile sales and IT support staff work alongside healthcare professionals across Australia – in the office, at home and on site.

In 2018 the BlackBook Zero 14 joined its ICT fleet.

This case study records Telstra Health’s experience in 2018, after around twelve months with the BlackBook Zero 14. Quotes are Christopher’s own words, lightly edited for readability.

The Organisation

Telstra Health provides software applications, open platforms and data security services to the pharmacy, hospital, primary, diagnostic, Indigenous health, aged, disability and community care sectors in Australia, as well as to government and insurers.

Its aim: to be the technology provider of choice for the Australian healthcare sector.

The Challenge

Mobile staff supporting healthcare professionals needed flexible, reliable, performance-based personal computing.

The business relies heavily on its ICT infrastructure. Any solution had to be reliable and meet business requirements.

• Performance computing
• Business budget and value requirements
• High specifications
• A three-year warranty with local support
• A portable productivity tool for the office, home or on site

“In the past our team had various mobile PC solutions with varying performance, weight and cost. We needed a lightweight solution that would enhance productivity, be dependable and reliable with a three-year warranty, and meet business value and budgetary requirements.”

— Christopher, ICT Lead, Telstra Health

The Solution

A Venom Authorised Partner recommended the BlackBook Zero 14 as a reliable, high-specification, high-performance option that would let Telstra Health deliver faster services.

It was supplied with a three-year warranty that met the financial requirements, and units were deployed over twelve months.

Why the Zero 14

Large enough to be a real productivity tool. Portable enough to carry all day.

It came standard with Windows 10 Pro, so it could be supplied without customisation, and deployment was on time and on budget.

A wide range of legacy and modern ports, long battery life, build quality and pricing made it a contender that did not disappoint.

The Results

Staff could work both in the office and out, on a lightweight machine that still met workstation demands.

• Portable, yet powerful enough to be a primary PC
• Lighter weight improved portability and staff adoption
• Reliable high-end performance
• Higher staff satisfaction

“The performance of the units is very impressive and we are happy with the service we have received. There was a significant improvement in productivity, by allowing our staff to not only work while mobile but also collaborate and engage clients and colleagues to the next level, with reduced downtime and limited IT disruption. We were very impressed with our choice.”
